Youngsters Shine In 3rd XI Title Triumph

9 months ago By Daniel Hesford

3rd XI cap off an excellent first season in the Pennine League by finishing as league champions.

The 3rd XI signed off the 2016 season in style with a 141 victory over Heyside at their Little Hey Street ground and with it finished off the year as champions.

Throughout the season we have fielded a healthy mix of experienced and young cricketers with the youngsters showing how far they have come in the final game. A superb 127 from 14 year old Zak Pemberton was the stand out performance whilst young Sam Holt's 98 was also an excellent knock and a hundred was very much deserved. Sam and Zak also picked up a couple of wickets each to go with their fine performances with the bat.

We're all looking forward to see how our young cricketers progress in 2017 in all of our senior sides.
