Saddy/Mick U11's win at Royton

And sit top of the league

Saddleworth / Micklehurst u11's beat a very new and untried Royton team last night. In an evening that was almost conceded by the home side due to their regular players having a visit to their new secondary school. Royton decided to field a team made up of their U9's for their first hard ball game. They clearly have talent but up against a strong team left them wanting. Some great straight bowling and energetic fielding shows Royton will remain a strong side even when they lose this years players as they move out of the age group. We lost the toss and were put into bat we managed a total of 115-3 (103). Pick of the batters Lewis Byers with 16. In reply Royton opened with Alfie Mcmylor who got off to a great start even hitting a 6 in the process as he finished with 15. We bowled really well and took lots of wickets with the pick of the bowlers Dylan Riley with 3 for 3 off 2 overs, Ewan Woodhead with 2 for 10 of 3 overs and finlea Sullivan Hadfield with 2-8 off 3 overs. In reply Royton managed 81-11 (37) in reply.
